by many brave warriors throughout the ages due to the strategic

Rota is very

a Naval Base guarding the town and its surroundings at the Bay with a
big marina situated next to a fishing port. This port is active
with fishermen carrying on with their livelihood activities
today.
The Old Town of Rota houses an Arabian fortress called
Castillo de Luna which functions as the local Tourist Information
Office.
There are still many ancient church remnants around
Rota with some dating back as far as 15th century or 16th century.

can enjoy the many ancient palaces and churches with a lot of
interesting ancient architecture visible. The old town wall has been
well conserved till this day.
