Interesting Cities in Castilla Y Leon
This Spanish region is the
biggest in the country and is also Europe’s largest region as well.
It is an elevate plain which has mountain ranges limiting it from the
East. It is a region which has lots of things to see among them the
many cathedrals, castles, monasteries and towns. Castilla Y Leon also
has natural parks which are virgin and consist of cork oaks and oaks
making a perfect natural ground for any kind of exploration.
This
region has interesting cities which are worth checking out. The
cities have amazing things to offer to visitors making each of them
unique and most attractive. You can never go wrong in choosing the
region as your ideal holiday destination and regardless of the town
you choose, you will enjoy the time you get to spend
there.
Salamanca city: it has a historic university which
happens to be Europe’s oldest. This city in the region therefore
has historical importance and a wonderful cultural heritage not
forgetting the outstanding beauty that makes it attractive from all
angles.
Segovia city: the colossal aquaeductus of Roman era is
the most outstanding monument in this city. It is what dominates the
town but there are other attractions found here among them Gothic
cathedral and Alcazar.
Avila town: the town is quite beautiful
and is historic. The one feature of the town which cannot be missed
is the Romanesque walls enclosing it. The walls are impressive and
still strong to date.
Burgos town: it is a wonderful
monumental town which cannot be missed while on a tour or holiday in
Castilla Y Leon. There is a gothic style cathedral here and it
happens to be the major attraction within the town.
Leon city:
this is the former capital of the region. It has lots of monuments
but the most attractive are the Gothic cathedral, Isidiro basilica
and San Marcos church which showcases the renaissance period. The
legendary Las Medulas gold mines are also situated here and you can
check them out while on a visit in the town.
Zamora town: this
medieval town is very beautiful and has a dazzling cathedral as well
as other Romanesque churches. Spain’s largest lake Lago de Sanabria
is found here and it remains to be unique since it is the only one
with glacial origins in the while country, Location
Villas Escala.
Valladolid city: Spain’s most significant
sculpture museum is here and it also has the Eater week procession as
a major attraction as far as events are concerned. It is majorly a
monumental city with impressive castles for its
surroundings.
