Amazing Beaches at Cadiz
Cadiz is well located at the
Atlantic Ocean with a peculiar coastline shape. It is a beautiful
city with a beautiful promenade on the beach with boisterous sea and
colorful historical buildings.
Cadiz has a great and colorful
history with the Phoenicians and Carthaginians invading it over time.
However, Cadiz did blossom soon after under the Romans as an allied
community. Many Roman monuments like the aqueducts and amphitheater
were built.
Beaches at Cadiz
There are many lovely
beaches at Cadiz. Conil de la Frontera is one ideal village with
whitewashed homes and interesting historical monuments. But the main
attraction is its 14 kilometer long white sandy beaches.
Tourists
have many beaches to choose from at Conil. The Playa de la Fontanilla
or La Fontanilla beach is just outside of town. Its openness to the
ocean exposes it to strong waves and winds; this allows several
interesting water sports to be enjoyed such as windsurfing and
kitesurfing. The La Fontanilla beach is the only beach at Conil that
has facilities for the disabled. There are plenty of sunbeds for
rental to cater to the thousands of tourist who flock here every
summer.
This beach is well equipped with many modern
amenities and water facilities to attract the young and old. Locals
also find this beach a weekend attraction with the ample parking
space available.
The Playa de los Bateles is another great
beach at Conil. It is quieter with a constant breeze. Those who like
to be away from the maddening crowd would like Los Bateles for some
tranquil moments alone. The beach is clean and long which attracts a
lot of nudists who want privacy with nature.
Los Bateles beach
seems to be slightly wild with the strong waves and winds romping on
and on. It is located at the mouth of Rio Salado.
The Cabo
Roche beach offers beautiful golden sand as wide as 40 meters. There
are some luxury villas along this beach, costa
blanca.
Coves
There are small charming coves near
the Cabo Roche beach. These are known as Calas de Roche; they are
also quite close to the town port. These coves are favored by nudists
for their privacy and protection. The strong winds do not usually
come to these coves.
Another cove in Conil is the Cala del
Aceite which is surrounded by cliffs; hence, this cove is also
protected from strong winds. Its golden sands and crystal clear
waters attract tourists here. The characteristic reddish cliffs and
beautiful sunsets draw many romantic couples here.
